Transportation Supervisor

Black Horse Carriers, a rapidly growing Third Party Logistics provider, is searching for an experienced Transportation Supervisor. Ideal candidate will have experience in Operations in one or more of the following disciplines: Dedicated Fleet, Cross Docking, Pool Distribution, and Warehousing.

This is a fulltime, OVERNIGHT position and the permanent schedule is as follows: Mon - Fri, 5pm - 3am.

Weekends are off and FULL BENEFITS are offered for this role. 

The purpose of this position is to coordinate customer delivery activities and manage company drivers in a safe work environment. His / her goal should be to obtain the highest possible level of customer satisfaction for all customers. The position will need to ensure that productivity and operational goals are met in order to deliver added value to both Black Horse Carriers and its customers. The Individual will be working in a dynamic fast paced environment that will require daily focus and a high level of engagement with the entire team, both at the site and within the regional “shared” delivery network footprint. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

· Engage the Drivers daily and address their concerns in a timely manner 

· Assist in the scheduling of drivers and vehicles on daily routes 

· Manage the drivers’ Hours of Service Compliance in Omni-Tracs and on paper when necessary 

· Maintain EFS Fuel Card Compliance 

· Maintain Equipment Maintenance records and coordinate repairs on all equipment as necessary 

· Track On-time Perform BOL and Trip Report Audits 

· Utilize the Black Horse Proof of Delivery system ( Scanning ) to Perform daily package tracking 

· Assist in Driver Hiring and Training as required 

· Assist Dock in on-time dispatching 

· Review Drive Cam and CSA violations; provide coaching corrective action when appropriate 

· Coordinate Driver “after hours” roadside repair service, when needed 

· Maintain a good working relationship with peers and drivers at all times


· Experience with DOT, OSHA, and all related safety regulations required 

· Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience required 

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs 

· Over-night work schedule is a must 

· Ability to self-motivate and work independently or in a team environment 

· Strong attention to detail and follow-up with all assigned responsibilities 

· Must possess excellent customer service skills 

· Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities 

Additional Requirements (Preferred): 

· 1-3 Years of experience in a transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred 

· Knowledge/Experience in transportation environment, (i.e.: Shipping, receiving and inventory management, distribution or dispatch preferred.) 

· Knowledge of warehouse and or software applications, routing and dispatch software systems preferred 

· Associate Degree or equivalent is preferred
