Assistant Terminal Manager


Sun, Mon, Wed, Thurs, and Friday Schedule

Black Horse Carriers, a Rapidly growing Third Party Logistics provider, is searching for an experienced Logistics Manger. Ideal candidate will have experience in Operations in one or more of the following disciplines; Dedicated Fleet, Cross Docking, Pool Distribution, and Warehousing.


Excellent verbal and written skills are a must as well as the ability to work with other locations to accomplish specific goals. This person must be a proven leader and possess the ability to think on their feet and make sound decisions.



  • Complete oversight of Multiple Local Operations
  • Responsible for Location financial performance
  • Monitoring budget and operational metrics while diagnosing and improving processes and procedures to ultimately improve performance and profitability.
  • Oversight of driver personnel, and fostering customer relationships
  • Responsible for general staff training and development Qualification, hiring, training and retention of drivers
  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements and any associated reporting
  • Growth of the operation while still maintaining superior service to existing customers
  • Driver and office personnel payroll submission
  • Local point of contact for human resources
  • Other duties as required


  • Extensive knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and the ability to operate in compliance with these regulations as well as within company guidelines
  • Solid Managerial experience in the Transportation industry
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to analyze daily operational metrics to monitor operational efficiency, equipment utilization, performance and profitability
  • The ability to motivate and lead both the drivers and dispatch personnel to meet and exceed the customers’ expectations and the goals of the company
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to manage, reward and discipline all employees equitably
  • Adept at problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Ability to alter work schedule as needed
