Black Horse Carriers is now hiring a Full-Time Office Administrator/Transportation Clerk  for our terminal in BOLINGBROOK, IL.


Monday - Friday

The Office Administrator is an Operations position responsible for performing clerical duties within the Transportation department; including maintaining all regulatory compliance as required by the Department of Transportation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones, route calls and take messages.
  • Enter data and create reports from customer inventory management program
  • Perform daily task associated with the company scanning process
  • Notify customers of late trucks.
  • Daily complete a high volume of paperwork and/or data in an efficient manner.
  • Prepare reports in support of the business.
  • Gather, organize and process driver daily paperwork, logs, manifest, vehicle inspection, etc.
  • Assist with driver calls when needed and respond to delivery associate issue; provide support for resolution.
  • Filing and maintain all required documents as required under Department of Transportation guidelines, i.e. driver’s license status, Medical Examination Cards, Certificate of Violations, monitor MVR status, etc.
  • Work effectively across departmental and organizational boundaries to align, organize, monitor and communicate all compliance initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) equivalent required
  • Associate Degree in Business preferred
  • Two (2) years’ experience in transportation and logistics preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Advanced Excel and Word proficiency required
  • Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid organizational, analytical competencies that result in the ability to manage multiple tasks and follow instructions
  • Ability to be flexible

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct reports
